How do I get rid of a problem racoon?
I have a bird feeder on my 2nd story deck that a racoon has knocked over and smashed. I put it up on a hanging pole but he managed to knock that down too. If I trap him, how far away does he need to go before I can rest assured he won’t come back? Is there another way to keep him off my property like with buffalo vomit chips or a crucafix?
Only two sure ways of controlling a coon. borrow a trap from the county animal control and trap him and take him into the woods somewhere and release him about 5 miles away.
The other way is a good Coon Hound, but your neighbors will probably complain about the howling while he chases the coon away each night.
