How much does a horse cost per month?
OK I need to know how much it cost monthly to have a horse. I will be boarding in louisiana and i have the stable picked out and these are the services they give:
Board price: $700/month
Our facilities include:
•12×12 matted stall with automatic water, hay rack, corner feeder, and cross ties.
(A stall with Dutch window may be requested but are by availability only)
•Feeding 2 times/day
•Stall cleaned and bedded 6 days/week
•Access to both riding arenas
•Access to Audubon Park
•Use of the Boarder tack room
•Use of both wash racks
•Turn out upon ring availability only

And here are just a few expenses for a horse-
$200-$700 a month for board
If you don’tboard – $50 a month for feed
$25 a month for hay
at least $30 a month for bedding
horse- free- 20,000
tack- $500(for crappy tack) – 5,000 (nice tack)
Winter blanket -At least $100
Stable blanket- around $50
Fly sheet – Around $40
fly mask – around $15-$20
grooming supplies – Around $50
Fly spray- around $15 a month
Horse boots- $100
Lessons- $25-$50 a lesson
vet-$150 (just for vaccinations,not emergencies) a year
Farrier- $25 for trim and $100 for trim and shoes (every 6-8 weeks)
deworming- At least $7 every time you de-worm (every 6-8 weeks)
Helmet- $100
breeches- $35-200 per pair
boots- $35(for crappy paddock boots) -$500 (nice tall boots)
