PLEASE! Bird band gone wrong! What do I do?!?
I ahve a dove, and notcied it wa messing ewith it’s bird abdn on it’s leg, and notcied it was very small and had gotten to tight! his veins are a purpleish color! His foot is the same color but is haveing trouble walking! I don’t know what to do!!! He will loose his foot if I don’t do ti soon! How to you loosen it?!?!
It is small enought that I can get a metal hanger in, but it fits tightly, and my bird dosen’t care if I hold it upsidedown!

You need to call an avian veterinarian … they have a tool to remove them. A lot of pet stores have them too. Get it off of there as soon as you can. I used to raise birds, so I know what you are talking about. If it’s one of the rings with an opening in it, you may be able to use the blunt end of a pair of tweezers to pry it apart as well.
